Rock'n the Desert after a decade
"Excluding Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stone recently said The Story So Far is the last great Rock Band. So, a 17 hr. round-trip drive was totally fitting for me that they opened up with The Long Road. They didn't disappoint, and that is why I made the journey down to see them. Simply incredible, they blew the roof off the place with a blowout version of Rock'n In The Free World, which they were joined on stage for by Nils Lofgren of Crazy Horse. In between, the crowd was treated to numerous classics including, if I recall correctly, one of my favorites, Corduroy, major hits Daughter, and Betterman, the headbanger, Spin The Black Circle, and of course tracks off the new album such as Lightening Bolt, Sirens, Mind Your Manners, and Getaway!; which is my favorite single off the record. And 3 hours later, they played a 10 minute version of the first 4 tracks off of Ten: Once, Even Flow, Alive, & Why Go, plus two great B-side numbers, Footsteps and Down."
